POSTDOCTORAL APPLICANTS:
We are seeking post-doctoral applicants to join an NIH-funded highly interdisciplinary translational research team focusing on targeted cancer therapy, biomarker discovery and personalized medicine (http://portal.ctrl.ucla.edu/pathology/institution/personnel?personnel_id=8894; http://www.cancer.ucla.edu/index.aspx?page=645&recordid=185) (Mellinghoff et al., NEJM 2005; Wang et al., Cancer Res. 2006, in press; Lu et al., JBC 2005; Mischel et al., Nature Reviews Neuroscience 2004;). The Mischel group is part of the NCI-funded NanoSystems Biology Cancer Center (Cal Tech, UCLA, Institute for Systems Biology - http://www.caltechcancer.org/ ), and the UCLA Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Medicine (http://www.iscbm.ucla.edu/people.htm). We work in the context of a highly collaborative network focusing on the development and application of molecularly targeted therapies for glioblastoma, the identification and targeting of brain tumor stem cells, and the integration of nanotechnology sensors to help identify individual patients most likely to benefit from these new treatments. Applicants with expertise in molecular pathology, cancer biology or nanotechnology are encouraged to apply.
